Welcome to the forum Mark. Lots of good stuff is here. In regards to the stalling problem, my guess is that the bike has sat idle for a while and the carb is gummed up. If the petrol in Costa Rica is anything like the swill they sell as gas in Mexico you should ALWAYS use the premium grade!
